Electronic Leak Detection (ELD)
Aquatech is proud to announce we now offer Electronic Leak Detection (ELD) in addition to the many other testing services they provide.
Electronic leak detection is used to detect leaks on plaza and roof membranes, pools, ponds, and fountains in accordance with ASTM D7877-14. ELD allows for testing of installed membranes without the requirement of flood testing (although the two testing methods complement each other).
The ELD testing services include:
- Horizontal and vertical surfaces
- Locating leaks due to trade damage
- Locating leaks due to pinhole outgassing, holidays, and other breaches in the membrane
- Testing without flooding the substrate (though it does depend on water to complete the electronic circuit)
- Independent testing by Certified and Trained operators
- Provides Third Party testing for conformance with the demands of the Project Manual and manufacturers’ warranties
The benefits of ELD testing include:
- Immediate identification of leaks
- Allows for immediate repair and retesting of breaches in the membrane found during testing
- With the use of a conductive primer the testing can be performed on wood framed construction.
