Arin Nelson is an ACI Principal and a California licensed Architect since 1986. Since 1992, Arin has provided consulting services to the construction, legal, and insurance industries in matters involving water intrusion, construction defect liability, and apportionment of responsibility.
He has extensive field experience coordinating and documenting destructive testing. Mr. Nelson has testified as an expert witness in mediations and trials. He has worked on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants, representing owners, builders, and subcontractors. Arin provides consulting and monitoring services for the design and construction industry, focusing on the evaluation and prevention of water intrusion through the building enclosure. He advises architects, building owners, and contractors on detailing the integration of critical waterproofing and flashing components at windows, curtain walls, skylights, roof transitions, sheet metal coping, air and vapor barrier, self-adhering flashings, stone veneer and cavity wall, stucco, EIFS, sealants, below grade concrete foundation, and balcony waterproofing systems. He provides the expertise for testing of installed windows and skylights and has monitored flood testing of balcony, plaza deck, and garden roof waterproofing installations in numerous residential, apartment, condominium, and commercial construction projects.
Arin holds a BS in Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and is a member of American Institute of Architects (AIA).
