Associate Principal
John Martin has more than 35 years of construction experience, encompassing a wide range of project size and type. He has significant experience as cost estimator, project manager and, since 1984, licensed general building and engineering contractor of private and public building projects. These have included residential single unit and large subdivision developments; mixed use, hospitality, educational, healthcare, historical and government facilities; civil design projects including hillside and sloped topography construction; concrete surfaces, elevated structures, and foundation for both material performance and system failures; construction site safe practices and construction site storm water pollution practices.
John routinely consults on issues of construction process, methods, and materials. He investigates architectural and structural materials for their failure to perform as designed, with considerable experience in matters relating to water intrusion, failure of concrete systems, building envelope, and building systems.
Mr. Martin has performed over 1500 investigations. He has provided sworn testimony in numerous depositions and trials. John has carried out case management support assignments for attorneys, insurance carriers, product manufactures, owners, and developers of common interest projects, single and multi-family residential projects and residential subdivisions, commercial, industrial, educational, healthcare, and public buildings.
Mr. Martin holds a BS in Construction Engineering and an MS in Construction Management from University of Washington. John has qualified as an expert witness in California Superior Courts in several counties. He has provided expert consulting and sworn testimony in matters of construction site injuries and death cases, and cases involving Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for both the plaintiff and defense.
